The girlfriend of slain Australian surfer Callum Robinson says her heart has been "shattered into a million pieces" after he was killed in Mexico.
The 33-year-old, his brother Jake Robinson, 30, and their American friend Jack Carter Rhoad were allegedly shot execution-style in what authorities have described as a "robbery gone wrong".
The trio reportedly fought back against assailants attempting to steal the tyres from their ute, which was later found burned out.
In an online tribute breaking her silence, Emily Howarth today wrote, "I don't have the words right now. You are one of one.
"I will love you forever."
The brothers' bodies were discovered 10 metres down a well, south of the city of Ensenada and were officially identified by their parents, Martin and Debra Robinson, who travelled to Mexico following the incident.
Three Mexicans — Jesús Gerardo Garcia Cota, known as El Kekas, his partner Ari Gisel García Cota, and his brother Cristian Alejandro Garcia — have been charged with forced kidnapping. Authorities expect murder charges will also be filed soon.
Friends of the Perth siblings also shared their grief online, with one describing the world as "an evil place" and Callum as "one of the most beautiful and loving souls".
Another tribute read: "The world lost one of its kindest, silliest, and most genuine of souls this week."
Photos and videos of the couple, along with heartfelt words, were part of a flood of tributes to Callum and Jake shared online.
"I won't let it stop me from spreading the kindness you brought into this world," another posted on Instagram.
Following the news of their deaths, around 500 people marched in Ensenada calling for justice.
Mexico's homicide rate was among the highest in the world, with more than 100,000 people currently missing across the country.
