1 Jimmy Heremaia sentenced to life in prison for murder of Ariki Rigby
Jimmy Heremaia, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum parole period of 12 years after he murdered the 18-year-old and burned a car containing her body.
Her sister Anahera told 1News Ariki was someone who loved hard, lived boldly and stayed true to herself.
"I'm proud to say that I got the chance to know her and feel her love."

3 Six killed as helicopter crashes into Hudson River off Manhattan
A helicopter broke apart in midair and crashed upside-down into the Hudson River between Manhattan and the New Jersey waterfront, killing six people, according to witnesses and a law enforcement official.
Witness Bruce Wall said he saw the helicopter "falling apart" in midair, with the tail and propeller coming off. The propeller was still spinning without the aircraft as it fell, he said.
4 Woman gives birth to another couple's child after IVF mix-up
The Brisbane clinic involved blamed the incident on "human error", marking what is believed to be the first case of its kind in Australia.
The mistake came to light in February when the birth parents requested the transfer of their remaining embryos to another provider.
An unexpected additional embryo in storage led to the discovery that a different patient's embryo had been mistakenly implanted.
5 Government to widen definition of veteran, establish new national day
Under the Veterans' Support Act, the term 'veteran' is reserved for New Zealand Defence Force personnel who have completed qualifying service, either in deployments where there has been "significant risk of harm", or in routine service before ACC's introduction in 1974.
Minister for Veterans Chris Penk said the Government had listened to the voices saying the current "narrow" definition created an "unneccessary divide".
