US President Donald Trump has shared a misleading video of King Charles on social media, edited to make it look like the royal shrugged and walked away when a man fainted in front of him.
The footage was used in a video montage posted to Trump's Truth Social platform, splicing together clips that appear to show other world leaders being disrespectful. It then cuts to a nearly three-minute compilation of the President honouring US service members and hugging veterans, with Christina Perri's 2011 hit A Thousand Years playing over the top.
Captions over some of the clips read: "The side of Trump the media doesn't show you" and "the people's president".
The footage of the King was pulled from a much longer video filmed in 2020, when he was still Prince of Wales. It was filmed when he visited a supermarket distribution centre in Bristol during the Covid-19 pandemic.
It showed the then-Prince talking to a worker who began to sway before collapsing to the ground.
In the full video, which Trump did not share, Charles reaches out to the man as he falls. He also stays close as the worker receives medical attention.
Trump's version cuts out this part, only using the end when Charles walked away.
When asked by the BBC, Buckingham Palace would not comment on the video – neither did the White House.
The video also featured French president Emanual Macron with a guardsman collapsing behind him, and former President Joe Biden appearing to check his watch during a military repatriation ceremony.
Trump has previously praised the King, labelling him "the greatest King" and a "fantastic man".
The King visited Trump at the White House in April this year.
