A patched gang member and a youth are among three people arrested after $10,000 worth of suspected gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL) and four firearms were seized in Wellington last week.

Police said they were called to a Cannons Creek address in eastern Porirua on October 9 after a firearm was discharged. No one was injured in the incident.

Senior Sergeant Jen Blackwood said frontline, investigations, and specialist police staff worked together to arrest a patched gang member and two associates across two addresses.

During a search of the properties, police seized four firearms, ammunition, suspected ketamine, GBL, and about 48 drug-laced vapes.

In a search of the locations, four firearms, suspected Ketamine, GBL, around 48 drug-laced vapes, and ammunition were seized, police said.

GBL – commonly known as fantasy or liquid ecstasy – is a depressant which can make users feel nauseous, groggy, confused and cause memory lapses.

"This operation has brought together our resources effectively to remove dangerous weapons and harmful drugs from our community," Blackwood said.

Two men and a youth had been charged with "various offences" and were set to appear in the Porirua District Court at a later date.
