Two charged after three students assaulted at Auckland college

Two people are facing charges after three students were assaulted at an Auckland college this week.

Police were called to Alfriston College at around lunchtime Thursday to reports of an assault, Detective Senior Sergeant Veronica McPherson of Counties Manukau CIB said.

"Three people have allegedly entered school grounds and approached a student on site and assaulted him," she said.

"Two other students have tried to intervene and have also allegedly been assaulted and threatened.

"At this stage we have established there has been an ongoing dispute involving people known to each other."

One student was transported to hospital for an assessment.

Following the incident, police responded to the area and located a vehicle of interest at a Randwick Park address.

A man and woman were arrested and are due to appear in the Manukau District Court today. The man was charged with aggravated burglary and assaults with intent to injure. The woman was charged with burglary and assault.

“We are continuing to speak with witnesses about what has taken place. Violence is totally unacceptable and those involved will be held accountable," McPherson said.
