The All Whites have fallen short against Poland, losing 0-1 in Chorzow, during their first friendly of the international window.

New Zealand delivered a respectable performance against the Polish side, which is ranked nearly 50 places above them.

The Kiwis had several chances in front of goal during the clash but were unable to convert.

They were unable to make up the deficit after Piotr Zieliński’s spectacular shot in the 49th minute, putting the ball past New Zealand keeper Alex Paulsen.

Star striker Chris Wood spent most of the game on the bench, making a late cameo in the 84th minute.

Meanwhile, Poland left many of its star players on the bench – including legendary striker Robert Lewandowski.
