Three people are in hospital after a vehicle lost control and collided with parked cars on Auckland's North Shore this morning.

Emergency services responded to the incident on Pearn Crescent in a carpark at the Northcote shops at around 8am.

"A vehicle has lost control and collided with two parked cars," police said.

Photos from the scene showed a ute leaning on the bonnet of a car.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said two ambulances were sent to the scene, where three patients were assessed.

One person was taken to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition, while two others were taken to North Shore Hospital in a moderate condition.

Fire and Emergency NZ sent a crew from Takapuna and Birkenhead.

"On arrival, none were trapped, so the job was left with St John and the police," a spokesperson said.

Police said the serious crash unit was at the scene, investigating what caused the crash.
