- A subtropical storm has brought large downpours and strong winds to much of the country.
- States of Emergency have been declared for the Far North District and Whangārei District for seven days in response to the severe weather.
- Some residents in Kaitāia were evacuated from their homes by police, FENZ and Civil Defence overnight due to the risk of flooding.
- Weather warnings for Auckland and Northland have expired, but MetService said many other regions were still experiencing heavy rain including the Bay of Plenty region.
