William and Kate share photo of Prince Louis to mark his 8th birthday

The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a new video and portrait of Prince Louis to celebrate his eighth birthday.

The photo, posted to William and Kate's Instagram, shows the Prince standing smiling with his arms crossed, wearing a blue fleece.

The caption said: "Happy birthday, Louis! 8 today!"

The image was captured by Matt Poretus, who frequently takes photos of and for the Wales'

The video cuts together various images of Louis at the beach, digging a hole in the sand, jumping of a wharf, hitting a cricket ball and running.

"8 is great," the caption read.

Louis is the youngest of William and Kate's children, and was born on April 23, 2018.

He is known for his cheeky antics at royal events.
