Former Warriors star Jason Death is in intensive care following a fall at his Sydney home, fracturing his skull and causing a brain bleed.
According to a GoFundMe page, Death, who played for the Warriors in the late 90s and early 2000s, suffered a serious fall a couple of weeks ago.
It said he suffered a fractured skull and bleeding of the brain.
"He’s currently in ICU, facing more surgeries and a long road to recovery," the page said.
"Jason and his family are some of the kindest people around, and now it’s our turn to support them."
It said Death and his family had a "log road ahead", and "we don’t know his full recovery path yet".
The page had raised over AU$48,000 as of Friday morning.
Death played 55 times for the Warriors between 1999 and 2001, winning the Warriors Player of the Year award in 1999. He was part of the side that reached the NRL finals for the first time.
He also spent time playing at the Canberra Raiders, North Queensland Cowboys, and South Sydney Rabbitohs.
According to the NZ Herald, Death has been running a gym north of Sydney and has four kids.
