Woman hit by car, killed after getting out of vehicle following minor crash

A woman, who was hit by a car after getting out of her vehicle following a minor crash, has died.

Police were called to the incident on State Highway 2 in the outer Wellington suburb of Horokiwi at 6.25pm yesterday.

"Indications are that the woman had exited her vehicle after a minor crash, and was then struck by another vehicle," police said.

"Immediate medical assistance was provided, however sadly, she was unable to be revived."

The serious crash unit and other specialists attended the scene.
