One dead, two injured in Bay of Plenty crash

One person has died and two others suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash near Papamoa in Bay of Plenty last night.

The crash on Te Puke Highway, between Bell Road and Poplar Lane, occurred around 7.15pm.

Police said the road was closed while the serious crash unit investigated, but it has since reopened.

Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
